Here's a step-by-step list of what to do with your Day 3 Blog this week.  Remember all items for the blog are due: Saturday, September 29.

WELCOME STATEMENT: 

Greetings and welcome everyone to our official first online portion of READ 765.  For the online portion of the course I like to use the format of a blog.  I find that you can place everything needed for one session in one area and just work your way down the blog.  I have listed the steps on the blog as well as mailed you a step-by-step sheet to follow.  Some people like to print off the step-by-step sheet along with the checklist to make sure they complete everything as they go along.   Remember if you should have any questions I invite you to post them onto D2L in our coffee shop so that everyone can benefit from the question you post as well as the answer I provide.  Have a great week exploring miscue analysis.

READINGS: First half of Primary Voices re-print (pp. 1-22)

POST:
·         In your group discussion area post the report/interview (Meet _____ [insert name of person you interviewed in class]) and photo of the person that you interviewed. 

·         REPLY to ALL the members in your group (3 members)
o   Welcome them into your learning community
o   Tell them something that you learned about them
o   A statement of agreement on something you read about them in the introduction piece written about them.
o   A question something you read about them in the introduction piece.
o   A personal connection you made to the information that was presented (text to self, text to text, or text to world)
·         Introduce yourself in the discussion box—INTRODUCTIONS

DUE: Upload into dropbox the Background write-up & reason for “troubled” label

How Readers Use Language

Step 6: 

 Watch/Listen to the audio Power Point presentation on “How Readers Use Language” and complete the exercises 

 Step 7: 

Under the “How Readers Use Language” presentation please leave a comment/ah ha/ or question that you may have in response to one or all the exercises that you completed. It is your choice as to what you want to address, but please provide a comment that helps continue the conversation.


Step 8: 


Please respond to at least 3 peoples comments (I am referring to step #7) 



Recording What Readers Do: Miscue Analysis Practice


Step 9:

Please watch/Listen to the audio Power Point presentation on Miscue Analysis- complete the practice.  In your small discussion group (groups we worked with last week) on D2L-Discussion.  Share how you did.  What was easy about this process?  What was challenging?  Ask any questions that you may have?  Ask for help.


Step 10: 

Reply to at least each person in your group (3 people) at least once.  You are basically having a conversation about the process.
